What's the difference between Numeric and Alpha-Numeric Service?
______________________________________
Numeric Service
Numeric pagers receive numbers only. Callers leave their phone numbers or a numeric code
and the system transmits them to your pager. Options such as VoiceMail, Custom Greeting,
Personal 888 number, and others are available at additional cost.
Alpha-Numeric
Service Alpha-Numeric pagers receive both letters and numbers. Callers can leave either a worded
message or a numeric message. However, to have messages transmitted to your pager, a
subscription to a service equipped to handle alphanumeric transmission is required.
You can also use your own computer to send pages or have callers use their computers to send
you pages. Software is available to allow you to transmit alphanumeric messages through your
PC and modem. You also receive an email address that your callers can send emails to, which
then forwards to your pager. Or, your callers can use the Internet to send pages through the use
of a special web page. Please contact us for more information about these paging options.
Alpha-Numeric service also includes standard Numeric service, so callers can call your pager
number directly and leave a numeric message. Options such as VoiceMail, Custom Greeting,
Personal 888 number, and others are available at additional cost.
